I've heard there is a cable that will connect my computer to the T.V. so I can play dvd's on my computer and watch it on the T.V. screen. Any idea how I can do this?

P.S. It is a Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop

If you computer has an S-Video plug and your TV does also, then you can get an S-Video cable to connect them and play DVDs/Videos on your computer and display them on your TV. An S-Video plug is round, called a mini-din.

In checking the specs, it appears that your Dell laptop does in fact have an S-Video port, so you will need to check your TV also.

You could also get one at Walmart, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc...

Yes. Your laptop should have came with a little plug (One end looks like an S-Video plug and the other end has s-video and composite video connetions) You'll need to use that and the correct cable to connect it to your tv. Contact Dell for this part if you do NOT have it.

Your laptop has an SVideo output on the back. Sooo, *IF* your TV has an Svideo INPUT socket, you're in business. *IF* your TV does NOT have Svideo INPUT, you can use a SVideo to COMPOSITE adapter cable, although the display won't be great.
