I know some women actually get onto oral contraceptives to make their cycles less miserable, but the two I know did it because they were bleeding very heavily (as in, dangerously so). Still, you may consider it. If you're under 18, you'll probably need your parents' consent to have the prescription, so you would definitely want to bring one of them to the doctor with you so they can hear it straight from the doctor that being on the Pill is good for your health, and not just a license for their little princess to sleep around.

Hi there. Have you spoken to your doctor about this? You could have an underlying condition causing these problems and you should get a good check up to be on the safe side. Birth control pills have helped with my cramps. Every womans body deals with that time of the month a little differently. No two bodies are the same, so what works for one might not work for someone else. You should be checked for endometriosis as well as cysts and bacterial infections. Good luck and I hope this helps!!!

Make sure that you are eating a reasonable amount of protein at each meal. Supplement with a good quality b-complex (LOTS of them--you can't od, and they totally help with the psycho thing!)

Some people have said that cramps got a lot better when they tried the DivaCup as menstrual protection. I can vouch for this as a good option for fem protection, but haven't struggled with cramps.

If the b-complex and protein don't help, do talk to your dr.

there are some herbals you could try. St. Johns wort for mood swings and evening primrose oil for cramps. Midol helps too. I went on depo to help mine. Also go to your gyno. My periods used to keep me in bed for the whole time...turns out i had endomitriosis. Definately got to your gyno.

I have the same problem. I get so sick it makes me cry and sometimes I vomit. Sometime they litteraly ground me cause of pain. I went to the gyno and they gave me BC and it REALLY helps! I also take acetaminophen which helps out well too.

There are drugs to regulate your period, such as Birth Control.
Or there's over-the-counter drugs such as Midol, Pamprin or such.
