Huh? Two 15 minute breaks?

Most employers offer a 15 minute break every two hours, or assume you will take one anyways. So, 8 to 12 is 4 hours, 1230 to 4 is 4 1/2 hours, and two 15 minute breaks equal a full paid 8 for your 9 hours of time.

From 8am to 5pm is nine hours. If you take a half-hour lunch, subtract the half-hour from nine hours.

You work 8½ hours per day. If you take two 15-minute breaks on your shift and they're unpaid, then you're down to 8 hours per day.

For a time card?
Well, whatever reason...
You're actually working 8.5 hours.
As an example:
start at 8
lunch at 12
start again at 12:30
leave at 5,
From 8 to 12 is 4 hours. From 12:30 to 5 is 4-1/2 hours.
