Even those who make it their profession to know and understand the law -- attorneys and police officers -- only know a tiny fraction of the laws that are in effect. And that's with frequent study.

It's amazing how many people don't even know what's in the Constitution, and that's a 10 page document, counting the Amendments. How do most people have any chance of knowing what's in the thousands of pages of US Codes, or the Code of Federal Regulations, or the hundreds or thousands of pages of laws and regulations that each state enacts?

I've got nothing to hide. If caught doing something that I shouldn't be doing I do and will accept the responsibility for my actions. The only thing that makes me mad about this whole surveillance thing is my phone sex bill, if they are going to listen in and get half the pleasure out of it they ought to have to pay half the bill.

Try being British, alot of our law is 'Common Law' ie its not written down and is interpreted differently by different judges.
