What is the significance of "Fields of Barley" and "Fields of Gold"?

Fields of Gold is a song about the sfterlife. Barley is used in the Bible as a peace offering.

It relates to the field full of " Golden Wheat " as seen in the Video of the song. The importance given to the supreme and sublime beauty of nature is very much apparent here. Field of Barley is just that as well.

Do you mean "Fields of Gold"? The album is titled "Ten Summoner's Tales" by Sting 1993 "Shape of my Heart" is MY favorite song on this CD. You'll like it even more.
