Try this. Turn off both computer, unless using win xp, unplug modem and router, wait 20 secs, then plug in modem only. When modem has fully booted plug in your router. When this is finished starting up, then start up both computers or if using win xp wait about a min and then try to get online. IF still no luck remove the router and try connecting the computer thats having the problem directly to the modem. When you do this, if you have any other system besides windows xp, turn the computer off, unplug modem, wait about 10-20 seconds, plug modem back in, after all lights are on, then start up your computer. If you can get online you know its the router thats causing the problemIF still cant get online, try typing in the ip address instead of the url in your browser. IF this works you have a winsock error.

We had to buy a new router for the network that connects our two computers. It blew when the power went out for 5 seconds last week. The main computer wouldn't connect neither but when my bf got home he was able to get his computer running. I had to wait a few days until a new router was bought and he got it hooked up.

depending on who your cable company is...if the last little light on your modem is BLINKING, then you have to call the cable company. Actually you probably will have to call either way but if that light is NOT blinking then something is wrong with your IP adress... You might have to get the cable company to give you a new IP address

sounds like the problem is moot, you seem to be on, or you couldn't post a question....
