by LT's inconisitency, i mean some games he gets like 15 carries for 30 yards. He has also been injured for the previous 2 seasons.

LT is the better all around back, but he has been injured the past two seasons if only slighlty. They key here is Phillip Rivers. Since Marty doesn't want to put too much pressure on him, he'll ride LT more for the early part of the season at least. I expect LT to have a fantastic year. LJ seems to be the consensus pick though. My only thought is that LJ may not play as well at the start of the season as he will towards the end. To me it seems like he's the kind of guy that just keeps picking up speed as he goes. He always seemed to get stronger as games went on, and i think you'll see the same kind of thing during the season. Trent Green and Eddie kennison are getting up in years and i bet they'll slow down towards the end of the year, meaning more carries for LJ. While LJ will be scoring touchdowns all year, i think he'll rack up most of his yards in the second half of the season. I would take LT, and then if possible try swapping him for LJ midway through the season. It might not be easy, but hey, it might just work out and you'll look like a genius.

LJ has started a grand total of 10 games in his career. LT has put the same numbers up for 4 seasons. How could you say that LJ is more consistent? By the way, the Chiefs lost two starters off the offensive line from last year and the offensive coordinator went to Washington. LT all the way. Or Alexander if he is available.

What do you mean he's been injured. LT has played in 47 out of 48 games the last 3 seasons. And every back gets shut down from time to time.

LT is the best player in the game, some dings the last couple of years, but he's packed on some muscle in the offseason, and San Diego's run blocking looks much improved this preseason. Aside from that, he's a weapon catching the ball as well, not to mention the fact that he also has a 151.3 passer rating and has passed for 4 touchdowns in the last 2 seasons. The guy can do it all. Also the Chargers are going with a QB with no experience this year, look for LT to have huge stats this year.

LT, do you really think LJ will have a record breaking year now that roaf is off the KC line. Since Roaf is retired they'll have to keep gonzo back to block and what other wideouts does KC have. Whereas LT is still running behind a great line with neal to clear a path for him. Plus Gates at TE takes some pressure off the running game.

LT all the way. He can just as many yards on the ground as LJ, but he can also catch the ball for recieving yards.

LJ

The bullseye on LT's jersey will be much larger than LJ's as there are not as many weapons around him to divert the D. Opposing defenses will be keying on LT unless Rivers can prove himself. That's a risk you'll have to take.

Can you imagine him not put in a "hurt" situation this year with Rivers as his starting QB. Couple that with the struggling line play and it has the makings of a "down" year for LT. LJ on the other hand does have to deal with the loss of Willie Roaf, but LJ doesn't throw right-handed passes does he? My money's on LJ this year.

Take LT, it will definitely mess with LJ's head!

LJ will have a monster year! LT will be good, but LJ is the right choice.

You really cant go wrong with either choice. In my opinion LJ would be my pick. I still think he feels like he has alot to prove and entering the season as the uncontested 1st string RB for the first time will give him all season to prove what he has said before......That he is the best back in the league. If he had been the starter all year last season his #s would have made this debate a no contest.
