Actually NO.
If you take a test at the doctors office and it's in the afternoon or evening it might come out negative and actually be positive.
The urine test that they give you at the doctor's office is the same type you yourself would buy at a drug store. To be safe, Make a doctors appointment for early in the morning. It may not be your first urination of the day but it will still be stronger than if it was done in the evening.
If your wondering if your pregnant but wait 3 weeks after your period was due and then take a home pregnancy test. If it turns out negative then go to the doctor and let your doctor know your late and not pregnant. Something else could be wrong. If its positive you still will need to go to the doctor and confirm it.
Good luck and I hope I have helped you out.

Pregnancy tests measure hormones.
The first morning's urine would obviously be more concentrated and the hormone level would be higher.
However ...some tests are more sensetive than others and many of them now adays don't require that you use morning urine.
Not only that ...but I suspect that the clinics may have access to more sensetive tests than the crap you can buy at the 99cent store.

Home pregnancy test and the one they use at Doc office are the same and is true they do it any time you go. The reason that the box says to do it in the morning is because the hormones that the test is supposed to pick up is more concentrated since i suppose you haven't peed all night or at least for several long hours,so that means if you are in early pregnancy and you go to the doc or do it at home you can still get a false negative, the best thing to do is to get the early detection test and do it as soon as you get up.

It counts your white blood cells, in the morning it won't diluted with other liquids you injest. The test at the doctor is the same but it is a tiny bit more accurate.

The test say first urine because its more concentrated and accurate. But other times in the day will do also.

If you go to the doctor, I think they usually do a blood test. My doctor always does a blood test instead of urine.

The clinic has more sophisticated analysis equipment that can detect the hormones. Those home tests are very simple and not as sensitive.
