Langkawi is just a small island. The things there are quite cheap as it is a duty free place in Malaysia. You can either get there by plane or flight.
It will be quite easy to find a place to stay. It is not a school holiday now in Malaysia.
In Malaysia it is actually better to eat where locals eat. Whenever you see a restaurant or stall pack go there. Malaysian usually follow the crowd because they are always right.

u can find good food almost everyway in Langkawi, get hold of a local map at the jetty information centre n you wouldn't lost ! As of diving, head to the east coast islands eg. Perhentian, Redang, Tenggol, Lang Tengah, Gemia etc etc or East Malaysia's Sabah offer fantastic diving site in Sipadan, Mabul, Layang-layang ! Enjoy !

i've been to langkawi only twice in my life and the last one was about errmmmm 9 years ago. but things and tourist attraction has changed drastically now there's cable car ride of your lifetime try langkawi cable car it's like hanging sooooooo high in the air my friend almost burst into tears. then there's langkawi underwater world.
i dont know much about langkawi but trust me it's fantastic. about PADI diving course i also dont know much but you dont have to go to phi phi island in thailand where in malaysia itself we have other world class diving spot in redang, sipadan and other islands

You were in KL for 3 days, 1 day at Penang and now 4 days in Langkawi and you still haven't figured out what you want to do? Why don't you just past time by giving more questions on your next destination....that will take you 4 days...

the diving is not good in Langkawi buddy, they take you out to the marine park and the visibility is crap. The rest of the island is beautiful though, enjoy. Why not try and get to the phi phi islands in thailand, not far away, and great diving. Island divers on Phi Phi are a great team, check them out.
