You need to eat more low GI foods. GI stands for Glycaemic Index. They fill you up for longer.
Examples could be...
Apples, oranges, pears, peaches, beans and lentils, durum wheat pasta, sweet potato, sweetcorn, porridge, noodles or wholegrain cereals.
Here's a good link http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/diet/gi_diet.htm
And remember the golden rule is...
Consume less calories than you burn
~or~
Burn more calories than you consume
It's better to measure yourself in inch loss rather than weight loss, and you're more likely to lose it and keep it off if you lose it slower. Lose weight too quickly and your body can think that there's a food shortage and when you start eating more normally it will convert any left-over calories to fat as a survival technique.
Good luck hon - you can do it!

Okay... I started dieting in Feb. I have lost 60 lbs and am back to myself again (yeah!) There are so many fads that I decided to go with what makes sense. Cut calories and fat. I ate no more than 900 calories and 25 grams of fat in a day. If you cook fresh foods, don't fry anything and eat a good amount of veggies, you won't believe how stuffed you can get! I still skip breakfast (which can cut a lot of calories) but am off the diet. I still eat healthy though and stay away from McDonald's and junk. (except when you just HAVE to have a greasy burger)
Don't forget, you can have an 8,000 calorie day and it doesn't mean you are off your diet... it just means you took a break. Wake in the morning and don't regret the day before. Sometimes, you just need it!
Good luck!
P.S. Don't forget to get moving too.. some kind of exercise.. I chose tae bo... love it.

grains for breakfast;greens for lunch; a light wholesome meal for dinner. You may have an aerated drink once in a while, but that's all! Exercise at least three times a week, each seesion lasting not less than 30mins. It should work out your cardio and feel at least a little breathless at end of each session.
A slow weight loss IS more reliable than a fast one. 2kg a month is a good rate. If u can maintain this regime, then the weight loss should be sustainable.

Try something that no one actually does -- eat according to the food pyramid.
Eating healthy doesn't require any tricks or special plans, you just DO it. If you live a healthy lifestyle, your body will show it (as long as you have no medical conditions). When you go to the grocery, only buy "raw materials", such as fresh fruit, fresh veggies, bread, raw unprocessed meat, milk, etc. Avoid ready-to-eat foods (i.e. canned soup, frozen foods). Drink lots of water! By "lots" I mean at least a half gallon a day, if not more.
And don't take any medications for losing weight, sheesh.

No pop, juice, or whole milk.
Switch to skim milk, soy milk, and water.
No chips, crackers, desserts.
Stop eating before 9pm each night.
Do at least 30 min of cardio each day.
No white breads, white rice, ice cream, cereal.
Go for things that keep you fuller longer with less calories, such as pears and carrots which actually expand in your stomach.
Start swimming... that tones everything over all.

well i recommend that for instance pay attention to the amount of calories you eat if you eat so much try to burn off more energy than you have taken in like walk or jog 2-5 miles or even ride a bike after every meal possible you could walk every morning before eating and you could simply try to cut down on how much you eat without skipping meals because that will cause weight gain because your body doesn't get the right amount of nutrition intake
