A 3D (3-Dimensional) ultrasound artificially shows "depth" as opposed to a regular 2D ultrasound view. A 4D is even better on the latest scanners in that it shows the 3D view in real-time motion and is a lot more practical to use in most cases. Most 3D & 4D sonos are used in pregnancy to check for fetal defects (i.e. cleft palate in the face)

The difference is an ultrasound is when a doctor uses a very powerful device to send sound waves into your stomach to get an inpression of your unborn child. A 3D ultrasound is when the doctor uses an even more powerful device to send down waves but when they are read they so up 3D photos.

ultrasound shows the form of the baby ,its skeleton ,3d shows you actual photos of your baby .i`ve seen 3d ultrasounds of friends babies one grinning ,the other with eyes open/from mikhal in israel.

a regular ultrasound is just a regular black ona white one like they do at the doctors, and a 3d one is browinsh color, and u can see the baby better
