It's the Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo has stated that it will be launched before American Thanksgiving and that it will be no more than $250. It's true that you will be able to play past Nintendo games from NES, up to gamecube, and also games from Turbo Graffix 16 and Sega Genesis. However, it will only be backwards compatible with Gamecube. Meaning, you will be able to play your gamecube game discs on the Wii. The rest of the games will be playable by downloading them only. You will not be able to play old nes, snes, and N64 cartridges on the Wii. Also, Nintendo has stated that they might not make ALL nintendo games ever created available for download, maybe just the popular or best ones.

Does this make sense?

The Nintendo Wii is not out yet. It is expected to be released sometime in late October/early Novemeber. The price hasn't been revealed, but won't be more than 250 dollars, and will most likely be around 200.

(An official announcment is expected in the middle of September)

And yes, it will be able to play all Nintendo console games ever created, as well as the Sega Genesis and the Turbografx 16 games.

Nintendo has not put a release date or a price out yet for the Wii, but most people think it will be out around mid November and will cost around 225-250 dollars. The Wii will let you go on-line and download all old Nintendo games for a small fee. It will have a the new Zelda and Metroid games as launch titles.

i in my view loved the gamecube. the controllers were the most mushy on the time, its small, simple and the video games are all sensible, exciting and unique. wii is more beneficial of a toy than a console (not a foul difficulty if thats what youre into), action sensing stability board, its all about the intense priced peripherals
