They were strong and stealthy, didn't need to rely on external forces to get them moving. They were at one with nature. Time, space, harmony all these things we have lost in the modern world because of a wheel (and other things) - they know. When all the rivers have dried up and all the trees have been cut down, we will know that we can't eat money.
They know this already.
