The passenger side window works fine. We were wanting to disconnect the switch for the passenger window (on the drivers side) and put it on the drivers side switch. Not sure if this can be done. We can't figure out how to remove the wires.

I need more details. What year & make car? Did the switch work for the down position only? Does the motor run but the window doesn't move? When you push the switch for up or down can you hear a clicking sound in the door or under the dash? Email me and I will try to walk you through it.

hmmm, this is a hard one. Is it the switch or your window motor? you will have to test it out to find the actual problem. Being that the switch is just an on/off switch with no power in it, I would assume it might be the actually window motor. Take it to a repair shop.

To test the switch, take the wires off the drivers side on and passenger side, cafully marking where they came from and how to hook thm back up. If the two switche wires do no match exactly, do not try it, take it in.

i see this problem everyday. its not the switch its your window motor. if you think you can do it go for it, the only heads up i can give you is the motor is sometimes rivited to the bracket and you have to grind these rivits down then either fashion up some small bolts and nuts or take it in somewere and they can rivit it for you for about 20 bucks. good luck.

open your car door, place one palm on one side of the window and your other palm on the other side, then pull the window up.

Just get it fixed. If you do what you are wanting to do, it will just end up causing more problems.
