My bf is sick and he has been for a while. He has gotten worse lately... I love him like I've loved no other . It hurts me to watch him sick I try my best to help him. I have stood by him right or wrong. I have put up with his ex- wife and her **** .Even when he had his little fit a few months ago and told me we were over I still stood by him and came here and helped with the kids. I really want to get married I have always wanted to get married and I always find something to change my mind ( 5 times I have backed out of a realtionship when we were talking about getting married )Now don't get me wrong I had some good reasons... My ? is do I tell John I really want to marry him.Even though I think he knows and he really doesn't like the whole idea of marriage thanks to his ex. I don't want to push but with his health going down I don't want to have to battle her to keep our house and stuff if he passes ( pray for us) I just don't know HELP?

I don't want to leave him I am sorry if I gave that impression I want to marry him. I don't think he will ever want to get married again. and I am worried about my life and the things we have if something happens to him.. I don't even want to think about it. But his ex wife would fight me all over.. I know that he wants me to stay in our home and help with his kids but I am worried that if something happens to him and we are not married that she will fight everything

I think u all are getting the wrong thoughts about this... I don't want to marry him to keep anything that's not mine or just for the home we share. When my father died his ex gf ( my brother's mom) carred for him and stood by him when my mom left divorced him remarried and had another child with another man.. But as his one and only "wife" she got his estate and blew it I didn't get anything. I don't want my bf's ex to do the same to his children and I

While your boyfriend is sick, it is time to show him how much you really care about him. Don't mention marriage but just take care of him until he gets better. By then, he will realize that you really do care and may consider marriage. The best way is to just show him how much you care by taking care of him until he gets better. He'll realize that you're the only one who really cared for him while he was sick and your relationship will only get stronger. Good luck to you!

Honestly it sounds like he needs a good friend, not a wife. Also I'm sure you well know God has a plain for you. I believe you'll do alot better after a few months apart. No talking, letters, or even E-Mail. Just be prepaid that its gonna hurt really bad but nothing last forever. If its meant to be and that's the one God has in store for you then believe me he'll come to you. If not trust in God that he knows whats best and move on, your not getting any younger and marriage just makes strain on a relationship, so if you don't have that rock hard bond to start with your doomed to fail, only the next time around you'll be older while the perfect guy God had plain for you decided to settle for less since you did. GL!!

Hi Rayne!

I am so sorry for the problems you are suffering and your boyfriend.

His health should not be a question in the relationship. True Love has no barriers, health, nothing.

Only you can say if you are feeling true love or compassion. You have to decide. But you have to talk seriously with him too. Going on when you have no intention of staying is not good for either of you!
Good Luck!

By all means, bring up the marriage issue. His ex should not be a deciding factor in how he builds his relationship with you. If he loves and respects you, he will listen to what you have to say. Hopefully, he can let go of his hangups about marriage.

I'm sorry to hear about the health problems your boyfriend is having. Did you both buy your house? If it is in both of your names, she probably wouldn't have a chance at getting it. I doubt she'd have a chance in getting anything, being the ex. Does he have a will if God forbid, something happens to him? If he doesn't, he needs to get one, that way he can leave whatever he wants to whoever he wants. Good luck.

hmm well if you are just wanting to marry him so you can keep the house no...because as you stated that you had five previous opportunities to get married so that is saying something at least to me....sounds really odd on this end of things.... maybe you should let things lie where they are...
