Take aspirin or ibuprofen before bed. Also creatine has claims to lessen lactic acid build up.

The aching is the tearing apart of muscles, which then build back, this is how you build muscle. I generally sit in a hot tub for around 20 min about 15 min after workout. Then when I get out stretch for about 5-10 min lightly. This will ease alot of the "ache" the next day. Also be sure to get plenty of vitamins, minerals, and protein, and water. Helps your muscles recover faster when eases the pain quicker.

if you are talking about muscle aching after good deal of exercising, do good amount of stretching of whichever muscles you use during the exercise. this should minimize the aching. a stretch that last 10-15 seconds and repeat it about 2-3 times after exercise should do the trick.

The ache is your body telling you that the "work out" is working. You can try warm showers, advil or an over the counter rub such as Ben Gay. I have found out that if I just keep moving the ache works itself out. Just make sure you aren't over doing it. Good luck!

Do lots of stretching afterwards. That's the best way to avoid aches.

Be sure to stretch before beginning....get in 5 minutes of cardio before hand. Also, be sure to drink plenty of fluids, and most importantly don't over-do it. If you are pushing yourself to hard, your body will let you know. Not to mention, this will decrease your motivation to go back. Rule of thumb: if you cannot carry on a conversation at any point during your work-out, you need to take it down.

stretch your muscles while they are warm. Soak in a hot bath with Epsom salts (available at any drug store). Ibuprophen is good for muscle aches too.

Do sufficient warm-up exercises before your workout. If it has been a long while since your last workout, control the intensity and progressively build up at subsequent sessions.
