serious music listeners: serious answers pls?

when listening to Gary Lewis and the Playboys I've noticed that they do alot of covers, were they a cover band or did they not know how to write their own music, i think they maybe 4 or 5 original songs but thats it, i'm just curious. Any jerk off answers will be reported.

These are great sites on includes all the lyrics and downloads. I also like the group but do not know which songs are covers.

Your right. Gary Lewis father was Jerry Lewis and that was how he got recorded. I understand his voice was not good and dubbed.
