Thank godness, I think I am. I went and bought a generator yesterday. I'm not taking this one lightly after what happened last year with Wilma.

I wouldn't even watch the news during that storm, you could tell it wasn't much and they were just hyping it up for ratings, it was nothing at all

I'm always prepared for a hurricane...except flash light batteries because the little ones play with the flash lights....gotta get some....and candles. I always burn the candles. We evacuate so often that now we just keep important papers/photo albums in Hurricane trunks year 'round. Just as easy to get to as cupboard/drawer and keeps the humidity out as well. Everyone in our family knows which trunk to put into their truck when we leave. One year I didn't take food/drinks for the road. Big mistake...everything was closed and the ONLY year we got stuck in a grid lock for 8 hrs. Very bad...I leave town first now, ha. Good luck, ya'll!

Ernesto isn't a Hurricane, yet. Stay tuned to http://www.nhc.noaa.gov for official advisories.

Florida is more than prepared for a tropical storm and weak hurricane and in fact believe each county can handle this with minimal to no state involvement. They've done this drill many times and with the Katrina past hanging over the president he is going to ensure FEMA extends itself further than it should be.

Yes I am, I don't have to do much because I'll be riding the storm out at the hospital where I work, but I have water, food, tank filled, cash and everything else all ready for when I get home and have no power. Just in case.

I'm prepared, but it's not a very strong storm. Last year was far worse than it is this year. I've got my iPod and got homework to do if we lose power. To be honest, I'm more worried about when school will start back than this storm.

Good for you! I lived on a boat in the Keys, and when this season hits I would have to take my boat a long ways away from the path. It was a drag! Now I live in Indiana, we have tornadoes. Ya just can't win!
