State board is better if you want to get good rank in state level common entrance exams. The questions in EAMCET,Tamil nadu CET,KCET,CET ,COMED-K are more state board syllabus oriented. You will have better chances in state level exams than in national level.
Are you aiming for IIT , AIEEE , AIMMS ,JIPMER or other national level competitive exams? In that case CBSE syllabus is better.
CBSE syllabus is tough especially physics(not trying to discourage you tough).
The competition for national level exams is very severe. Also not much seats are available.(only 30 seats or so in JIPMER where as in EAMCET there are 3500 seats including reservations for medicine.)
I studied CBSE till 10th and shifted to state board(andhra) for inter.
Go for state board friend.Better chances. You didnt tell me from which state you are.

If you are particular about marks and continue studies in TN shift to State Board. If you are too strong getting about 95% coninue in ICSE or CBSE.Otherwise State Board is the best option. If you are to move out of TN then look for CBSE

Well,i think that u should go for state boards if u r preparing for tough competitive exams, like iit pmt etc.
But if u r hoping to find a college in local area, then i would suggest u to remain in icse only.
That's so b'coz,if u r preparing for tough exams,u need more time for preparing for them.
But ,while remaining in icse,u would have to work double
but if u opt for local colleges then ur school's ed. matters
