Yes, its cheating. Just because there are no physical contacts does not mean that it isn't cheating. Anything that you do that is considered to be intimate and is disruptive to your primary relationship is considered to be cheating. Would you want your partner, other half whatever you call this person having cyber sex with someone else. If you can be open an honest with your partner and they don't have a problem with it that's when it is no longer cheating.

For any of you that answer it's not cheating .. you're justifying yourself or outright lying. It is cheating. Cheating does not have to be strictly physical. It is more of an emotional thing. And I guarantee you most women would rather a man physically cheat than have actual 'feelings for another woman' which you all must agree happens in cyber. I, myself am a chatter and I consider it cheating. However, I must admit, very selfishly, it is quite satisfying to communicate with someone unknown.

I cyber all the time and I consider myself to be cheating. If you need to ask the question, I think you already know the answer to this one. Like Bill Clinton with Monica L - who else would think oral wasn't sex?

I do not concider it cheating because really there is no physical contact but it is being disrespectful towards your spouse. I would be very upset if my husband was on the internet showing his manhood to another woman. I would also think if he was doing that then he might be concidering to go further with this person.

According to wikipedia,

"Cheating implies the breaking of rules . . . Many people consider cheating to be any violation of the mutually agreed-upon rules or boundaries of a relationship, which may or may not include sexual monogamy."

Cyber sex is like a mutual shared fantasy. Fantasies are good. However, if you have to lie about it or can't (or won't) tell your partner, then it is cheating.
