Definitely schedule an appointment to see your doctor right away. There is nothing they can tell you via ultrasound at 5 weeks because it's too early but they can give you an exam and make sure that there is not bleeding still going on inside.
I had the exact same thing happen to me and my doc checked me out and said to just take it easy. He also did blood tests for my Hcg levels to make sure it was a viable pregnancy.
Try to think about what you did on the day before it happened. Did you overdo it somehow? Have a stressful day?
Sometimes simple things like that can trigger early bleeding.
Just try not to worry and have a doctor check you out as soon as possible. If it stopped shortly thereafter and it was just spotting there's a good chance that everything will be ok.

implantation of the egg can cause spotting, though I think the egg should be all cozy by now.
Being 5 weeks along means that you might be at a point where you would normally be having your period. Hormones acclimating themselves to pregnancy can take a while. Maybe you are just having mild spotting.
So long as the blood is a bright, healthy pink... this is a good sign, but remember that blood pooling in the vagina can turn brown.

Brown spotting would be normal, and bright red would be cause for concern. But u seem to be the opposite! Get it checked out.

I am also 5 weeks pregnant. From what my doctor said...since the cervix is in a sort of "raw" state...sex or rough terrain may make you spot a bit. Of course, I would still call the doctor to explain your situation and let him/her make the call as to whether there is a real concern. Good Luck!

if you are spotting at all you need to see your doctor immediately ,especially if you have already had two miscarriages regardless of the color of blood, because every pregnancy is different.

Call your doc and ask. There's no harm in calling and talking to the nurse
