My daughter is only 13 and she wants to work so bad. I know 13 is too young. How long is it before she is able to apply? Someone told me it was 14 but I thought it was 15 or 16. Where does she apply? If I can recall, I got mine through the school system...I don't remember...

It depends on the state you are in and the type of work you are doing. If it is farming or newspaper delivering you can get it as low as 12 or 13. In new york state it is 14 to get working papers which are done through the school. Also it depends if you are in school as well. IF you are a 14 year old dropout well then you have different work restrictions in terms of the hours and times that you can work compared to someone who is still in school.

well, some states are different but here in ohio you cant work til your 16 .now, if u think she is responsible enough she can start baby-sitting but if you let her do that for her the best thing is to call your local american red cross and get her certified in first-aid and c.p.r. good luck
