The hair on the top of your head is older. Were you born with a beard? I don't think so. Wait 20 more years and you should be naked.

Your brain receives 50% of your blood supply at any given time. That means your head is the warmest part of your body. I conjecture that because of this inherent warmth, it is not important for humans to retain the hair on top of their heads as much as it is to keep it in all other parts of the body. Including their chins (which do not benefit from the increased blood flow to the head).

Also, keep in mind our other prominences. The hands and feet are the ends of these (just like our head is the end of the prominence that is our neck). Do we have an abundance of hair covering these?

Who knows why evolution has worked as it has? I have heard that there are humans being born with 4 lungs or 4 kidneys and no appendixes or shorter bowels. Why would these variants be occurring?

There are two kinds of testosterone. You are producing an over amount of one that has an adverse affect on the hair follicles on top of your head -- so you don't grow hair up there. That same testosterone though causes body hair follicles, like on your chest, to take off -- thus bald men usually have very hairy chests. The other testosterone affects sex drive and not the hair on your head or elsewhere.
