I watched that scene in slow motion and I am convinced it is real and not a fake. It clearly shows a little person (midget), in the background, climbing a ladder, and swinging from a rope. It's there. I saw it. What do you think?

I have looked at the evidence on both sides, seen the footage, and given it much thought, so what am I seeing then? I haven't heard anything conclusive...I have only heard theories, no facts. What I see with my own eyes I believe. Like I said, I saw the shadow of a person in the background put a ladder up against a tree (prop), climb the ladder very quickly, put the noose around it's neck, fall, and swing back and forth. I was only told where to look not what to believe. It is very creepy. I believe in the curse.

I would have to say it is quite true. Not only have i seen the footage of this hanging, But my mother was a huge Collector of "Wizard Of Oz" Collectibles, And the hangin was confirmed By the "Mayor Of Munchkin City" at a convention that she attended. But who ever said it can only be seen in the older ones, that is correct, it was edited out in the ones that have been re-released.

Definetly NOT true. I watched this show about Urban Myths and they say that there was never any evidence of any suicide attempt during the filming of the Wizard of Oz.

I heard it was true. My husband sees the person, but I don't. I've tried over and over. But nothing comes out of it for me.
I've added a link below that says it isn't true. Read it, then watch it again, to see if it looks like what the site is saying. Good Luck!

I don't believe it... there is a show on TLC , if orget the name of it.. but it goes through a number of stories depicting which ones are true and which ones aren't. anyway... they dind't do a story on this one.. but they did have a quick little quiz on it before a commercial asking if a little person had actually killed themselve in the background of a scene in the movie.. and NO it did not happen....

yes it did happen. It is on the older video versions which my mother has, but on the special edition DVD that I have they edited it so that there is this big bird flapping its wings instead.
