Short answer: $30

Long answer: The federal benefit amount for SSI is $603 for an individual. Many States provide an additional cash benefit to supplement your federal SSI payment. Also, some States provide a special supplement for residential or home care if you live in a residential group home, live in a care home requiring supervision, or live in an assisted living facility.

These supplements are known by different names in some states. Additionally, they are sometimes called State Supplementary Payments (SSP) or Optional State Supplements (OSS).

In all States it is required that your Federal SSI check be reduced to $30 (called a Personal Needs Allowance or PNA) if you live in a "Medicaid Institution" for more than a full calendar month. Some states supplement the federal PNA with additional payment.
