Biotechnology and bioinformatics are the upcoming branches and gaining lot of importance nowadays.In abroad these fields are already established , so you have better chances in abroad.It will take atleast few years for india to be developed in this branch.However job oppurtunities are plenty in bangalore.Its the technology hub.And in chennai too you have wide chances.
There are many deemed universities in chennai offering bioinformatics....VIT,bharathi,amrita are just a few. In bangalore i know about CMR institute,amrita.
