You do not give much detail info i must say so it is hard to say what or what not the problem can be....

as yoy can connect i guess the wireliess connection at itsef is available and complete???

Ah well first question is do you get an ip number from the wireless sett?

Ask your neigbour if she/he has set up dhcp for that wireless.
with all the works so ip number domain name server (dns) and gateway is given to your computer automaticly.

you can then check by opening a command window
Press start select run and run cmd this opens a black command window

type here ipconfig /all and you can see what your wireless has got for an ip number dns server etc....

if that is allright so you have got

ip Address
Default gateway
DNS Servers

then it should be oke otherwise you have to ask your neigboour to setup dhcp service.

Your neighbor:

Connect DSL Modem or Cable Modem wire to back of wireless router.

Run setup using install disk

You:

Make sure you set your IP to connect using DHCP. On WinXP, to go Control Panel, Network Connections.

Double-click on the Wireless Network Connection icon. If you are already connected, you will get a screen where you can click on a properties button.

Find the Internet Protocol item and double-click on it. Make sure that Obtain an IP Address automatically and Obtain DNS Server address automatically are selected. Click OK until you are out of everything.

You should be able to access the internet now.

Hint: make sure your neighbor can access the internet through the wireless router, otherwise you won't be able to access it either.

Your neighbor has to have it connected to the Internet. If the wireless connection is unsecured, you can simply connect and access the Internet automatically. If it is secured, you need their WEP key (or whatever security they used) to connect to the router.
