Thanks for letting me know--it's always good to hear the opinion of an "expert."

Green Day is good music. If you ask me they get better with time. Although they did play the music to much over the radio. And the Dixie Chicks are making a come back. I like them too. I really don't care if they come out with political crap, because I could care less about politics. If its good music I'll listen to it.

I happen to like Green Day. They can be as political as they want. It is thier opinion - not only that, you can look at the songs in different ways too.
What do you mean they shouldn't be political? The Dixie Chicks have the freedom of speech just like everyone else......except in this country. Look what political did for Bono and U2

I can't stand the dixie chicks. They are white trash. The best thing that they did was to trash the president. I love green day and I think american idiot is an excellent album.

Don't wanna be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new media.
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mindfuck America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
Well that's enough to argue.
Well maybe I'm the ***** America.
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along in the age of paranoia.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
Well that's enough to argue.
Don't wanna be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information nation of hysteria.
It's going out to idiot America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to fol

They've been around for probably longer than you've been alive. So they did a political album. So did EVERYONE in the 60's and 70's!

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I've always loved them. I find the When September ends video to be very PRO war actually, it's about someone doing what they feel is the right thing to do for their country...
Not trying to offend - just my opinion.

my die hard punk rock friends dont even consider them punk. theyre what you call corporation babies or sell outs (i.e. metallica) who try to change their style with the industries constant changing style just to sell records. now the stones on the other hand have kept putting out what they consider rock and roll and dont care if the beloved music industry considers them "hip".

yeah, ur right! in the 80's or 90's or whatever, they were okay, but after their lame song "american idiot", they are now just a horrible band! if they don't want to be American Idiots, then they should leave the USA, and leave us all alone! :)
