Try writing down who you think that "you" was and make a list of the you you want to regain then make notes and post them around the house so that you can see them everyday or get a note book and put those notes in there and title it Remember who you are. It helped me alot regain the person i was and had let slip away. I do not have bi polar but I did study it and I hope for strength and the best for you.

I don't think this will be much help to you, but I would think if you make a list of all the things you have enjoyed doing or else felt were important to get done before you were depressed, and then if each day you make sure you do at least one of the things, eventually you would get reacquainted with the old you.
I've found that it sometimes takes actually doing something that the old you did to bring back that feeling that old you had. The list of things and situations that made you feel good before is the place to start. Just thinking about those things may actually start the process of getting reacquainted, but doing a least one of them every day would be more useful.

happiness is, largely, a decision; as are many things in life. I have battled with depression most of my life. When I get up in the morning I just have to tell myself that it's gonna be a good day.
Live life to the fullest possible potential that you can afford to. Jump out of a plane, learn to play guitar, ride a bull, read shakespeare. The more you do for yourself, the beter you will feel, and the easier it will be to find the real you.
