If you are going to be living in Barcelona on a permanent basis and really want to endear yourself to the locals learn to speak Catalan. I would definitely recommend learning Spanish first if you don't already, but if you are a foreigner and you speak Catalan people will be honored by your presence, literally. Catalonians are very proud of their language and culture.

Guadalajara won't give you much fun. But you're not so far from Madrid and Alcala de Henares and they worth a visit... or two.
Barcelona will be great!

Don't worry about culture and people. Just behave

Lucky you baby, try the famous " paella " to eat, it's delicious. I think the weather is very hot. Have a nice trip.

You will love the place, the people?, well, they are very open minded, and friendly, just don´t go out at night alone.
And try to stay away from drugs or junkies, its very easy to find.
