In using a word processor on Citirx, when a user sets the language to French...after they logout and log back in, the language reverts back to the English US default. I've tried:
'logging on the server with administrative rights, and setting the server in install mode, start Word and change the language. Exit word and set the server back to EXECUTE mode'

Also tried

'changing the keyboard layout on the ICA Client. i.e. Keyboardlayout=server default in Citrix Program Neighbourhood NOT user default'

This also didn't work. I can't seem to find a solution to this problem. Any help would be appreciated

Yes, this happening with all users. We're trying to set the language to have french as the default, but it continues to default to english when logging off from Citrix. We've tried to create a new account but the same thing happens.

Is this with every user? Do you want the language to be French for all users?

Was the language setting implemented after using in Enlish for a while?

Try creating a brand new Citrix account and see if the situation persists.

Check if each user keeps Word profile settings in a folder on the server, then check if it stays after disconnection or if it goes away.

--Edit--
Also check where the client is storing the application data. It can be saved locally on the client machine or on the terminal server.

If the user does not have rights to save settings on the local machine's hard drive, but that is where the Citrix client is trying to store them, it could go back to the default....

But then the default SHOULD be what you set in install mode.... hmmmmm.

Maybe the Windows ID you used when you ran in install mode couldn't overwrite the settings on the Citrix server.

Make sure that all other users are disconnected from the citrix server, reboot it and then try the install mode change again...

Not sure which version of Presentation server you are running, but I do know that Citrix does not support cross over language. For instance, problems with english version of metaframe server installed on a German or French operating system are not supported.

With that being said. Since it is running on a terminal server, there maybe a global setting that defaults the language, it being computer specific, everyone logging into Citrix gets the same global settings. I don't know how it would react if you had a Citrix farm, and had enough users to set the French on one server and English on the other. Of course look at how much money you would spend on licenses alone. You might as well buy office for each user.

The first time any Office application runs after Office 2003 is installed, Office creates the following subkey in the Microsoft Windows registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\
Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\
LanguageResources

There is a nice little article that explains it away. But as I said earlier, I think it is a global policy, and is specific to a computer, not profile. That would mean, the Citrix server would have the global policy set to default for all users.

i do no longer ideas human beings making use of massive words as long because it does not sense compelled. each and every so often i contemplate whether human beings do no longer in basic terms take a seat with a dictionary until they detect a be conscious that looks massive and pretentious sufficient and then script a sentence to exhibit their fancy new be conscious. and you will tell while some authors are doing this through fact they have discovered an entire area they like and that they are working by it in alphabetical order. no longer all human beings is like this. some authors easily have a huge vocabulary and it may no longer be suppressed without smothering the story. no rely if including words or taking them away, writing is all approximately looking your individual voice, so what good does it do once you attempt to alter it? each and every so often simplicity works. It worked for Hemingway. yet distinctive large authors had an incredible practise so that is in basic terms general that they'd desire to apply long words. do no longer pay any interest to the different childrens hon. possibly they concept you have been doing it on purpose to coach off, yet because there is not any way you may desire to appreciate you would be analyzing it in front of the full class then that is somewhat their project. i assume this comparable youngster wrote a Dick and Jane paper with sentences like 'Dick likes Jane.
