mp3 is the most compressed form of good quality sound u can get..but then if u insist on compression in expense of quality then try softwares to convert in real media format (.rm) or try to reduce the bitrate of the audio....

Converting mp3 to atrac..
Use (Do a search for) Sonicstage (Free download from Sony's website:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/
Now for compressing (converting to different bitrates/quality etc) mp3's there are a multitude of programs to do this try searching these sites (make sure you select FREEWARE search)
