It is definitely true. It is on the info sheet that comes with my BC pills. Apparently, the medical field isn't sure why either, but it definitely does.

I don't know why it's true, but it is. A friend of mine just had her second child last month. She was on the pill and took an antibiotic for bronchitis and lo and behold--here comes baby number two. :)

Antibiotics can affect the absorption of the pill. Also they frequently reduce the gut transit time, so everything passes through quickly, including your pill. It's then not absorbed properly

yes it is true. so do a lot of other medicines , anything interacting with your body can mess up your birth control.

Yes. Ask your doctor specifically what the antibiotic will do and for how long. (Communicate for YOU!!)
