If you are in highschool, try to start of join a drama club. they are fun and exciting. If you are unable to do so, look on the internet for your area.
Try a local theatre group. If there isn't one, try to find one that's close by you can get to. If you're still in school, continue in drama class, join the drama club. But when you're in the club, actually go to competitions. If you keep it within the school, no one will notice you.
Movie auditions are usually in the big movie cities, like LA. If you're unable to get there - which is difficult - sometimes talent agencies will come giving interviews. Keep an ear out, and if you hear they're coming to your area, get out and go there, and have that interview. Even if you're not what they're looking for, they may be able to give you references to other audition spots a bit closer to home.

Local theatre group. Check the newspaper for auditions. Also try the phone book and (oh no) Google "local theater" or "community theater" + your local town.
Community theater is a good place to get not only acting experience (and learn acting) but singing, dancing, make up, customes, lighting, sound, sets, and more that will help you in the future. Plus it is experience to list on future acting resumes (and employment resumes). Where else can you get all that for free?

Don't use google. Use theatres.
There are usually several acting organizations in many areas. Go to the downtown venues and also look up their websites. You might find some interesting plays and playhouses out there as well as some community troops.
Good luck.

If you are in highschool, try to start of join a drama club. they are fun and exciting. If you are unable to do so, look on the internet for your area. I am big into acting as well and I searched to see if there were any community theaters close by so Maybe I could try out for them. Man! there were a bunch. You just need to search well and ask questions. Check in at your local library, maybe they have some information for you. Don't be afraid to stick your head out and look around. I can't help you on trying out for movies. But If you look on the internet or at a mall in your area, you could proably find one. I foundone by acident in the nearest mall that I live close to in my city! Just look around and poke your nose through a phone book that might help as well.

Are you near Stephen F. Austin college? When I was in a touring company years ago, we played in Nacogdoches TX and that college was nearby and as I recall they had an active theatre program.
I was curious and I looked it up. The college was in the town.
Baylor and UT have good programs also. UT might be too far away and I'm not sure about Baylor.

Check with your local paper for local community theaters, even your local High School or colleges will have auditions open to community members.
Unfortunately, most movie auditions are in Los angeles.
