Fact 1: A / C = A ( by the way / means divide)

Fact 2: A+B=A

Fact 3 ABC=1

PART A
If fact 1 and fact 2 are true, explain why fact 3 is NOT true.

PART B

THEN
A/C=A
1/1=1
A+B=A
1+0=1
ABC=1
1*0*1=0 NOT 1
SO
ABC=B (0).....NOT 1

Fact 2 has A+B=A, which means B can only be 0.

Anything multiplied by 0 is 0, so it can never equal 1.

B=0, C=1 (Because the only thing that can always divide into A and still get the answer A is 1). A is a variable that can change in any of the equations.

By fact 1, C has to equal 1.
Fact 2 says B must equal 0
So, fact 3 can not be true, because if you multiply anything by 0, the answer is 0.
Part B: A=1, B=0, C=1

A/C = A therefore A must equal zero or C must equal 1. A cannot be zero for Fact 3 to be true, any zero in the factors of Fact 3 would result in the procduct unequal to 1 making Fact three false.

B must also be unequal to zero by the same logic. Therefore

"A" (unequal zero) + "B" (unequal zero) = some number unequal "A" which would cause fact 2 to be false if fact 3 is true and vice versa.

According to Fact 1, C=1
According to Fact 2, B=0
Fact 3 cannot be true since, by definition, multiplication by 0 always yields 0.

any number divided only with 1 results with same number follows c=1
only on case of A+0 you may get A follows B=0. But any number * with 0 is 0 follows fact 3 is not true or it not goes together with fact 2. A may be any number you want if you take out fact 3 or if you take out fact 2 any of them are 1

ok considering my birthday falls on the ninth, i'm going to offer help to with question #9. The question says: 2a² - 9a = 5 shifting 5 to the left part supplies 2a² - 9a - 5 = 0 Now you will possibly desire to locate 2 numbers such that their sum is -9 and their product is -10. those 2 numbers may well be -10 and +a million. 2a² - 10a + a - 5 = 0 2a(a - 5) + (a - 5) = 0 (2a + a million)(a - 5) = 0 2a = -a million a = -a million/2 a - 5 = 0 a = 5 So the solutions are a = -a million/2 and a = 5

A/C = A

well, C has to be 1, because anything divided by 1 is itself.

A+B = A

well, B has to be 0, because u can't add anything to A except 0 to still get A

A*B*C = 1 is impossible, if B = 0, ABC has to equal 0.

:)

The important part is fact 2. If A+B=A, then B must be WHAT?
No matter what A is, B is a certain number. You take it from there.

parts 1 and 2 say B=0, hence ABC cant be nonzero.
