I read 2 books in the last month. I read "The Mermaid Chair" by Sue Monk Kidd and "The Dirty Girls Social Club" By Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez. They are both very different in content. Therefore, both good. I won't be able to read for entertainment for a while. I'm in school and must hit the text books. So hopefully by the time I can, there will be some new books out!

I read the following books since August started:

"The power of Gold - the history of an obsession" by Peter L. Bernstein;
"Kroes" by Pat Stamatelos (an Afrikaans novel)

and I am nearly done with:
"Evolution Captain - the story of the kidnapping that led to Charles Darwin's voyage aboard the 'Beagle'" by Peter Nichols

Thus three books in the past month. I think I liked the last one the most.

I read:
Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
The Wave by [don't remember the author]
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
and now I'm reading Something Wicked this Way Comes by Ray Bradbury

All of them were tiny books which is why I finished them kind of quickly. And I only read The Chronicles of Narnia because it was a really short read and I had just finished watching the movie. The best one out of that bunch was Cat's Cradle, with Stardust at a close 2nd.

I've probably read at least a dozen--I'm a quick reader--but my favorites would have to be:

New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

and

Here There Be Dragons by James A. Owen (which technically isn't out until October but I've got an ARC of it. However his website does have the first two chapters available to read online.)

I just finished a book by Jimmy Buffett called, "A Salty Piece of Land". I really liked it. Now I'm looking forward to John Grisham's new book coming oout soon. It's great to have a good book going that you can escape to.

I read a couple. But most recently I read 'Something Wonderful' by Judith McNaught. Its a historical romance. Pretty good but it could have been better.
