I stopped getting little girl birthday cards at 34, two years after I got married and 7 years after I bought my own home. I think it normally happens when you have children, but I'm not doing that.

Should be once you are paying all your own bills completely on your own without expecting or asking (ever) any help from them...you aren't grown up until your doing that...if they are treating you like a baby and you have been living independently for some time...time to have a talk with them. Are you being over sensitive or are they actually interfering in your life?
My son is grown and on his own - but he will always be my baby...lol...I don't interfere in his life though...but I will call him my lil boo-boo if it embarrasses him or not (and it doesn't...and I don't do that all the time..lol..but he's pretty confident and self-assured and loves his mama)...
If you have your own house and business - then they are proud of you I'm sure...don't let 'em interfere..(sometimes parents don't realize they are)..just talk to 'em.

Do they ever? LOL Seriously, my mom still has a hard time with it sometimes and I've been on my own for 16 years. It used to really annoy me that she wouldn't (or couldn't?) accept the fact that I was adult with my own responsibilites, etc., but eventually I realized that it's just hard for some parents to let go. Try to talk to your parents and let them know it bugs you, but don't be hateful about it. Eventually they will come around, at least a little bit, especially after they see for themselves that you are actually capable of making it on your own.

When you have kids of your own and are acting just like your parents, not accepting the fact that your children are grown, then they will accept it.

They never do accept that you have grown up and can handle it on your own now. Moms are harder than dads sometimes. Just tell them that your an adult now and can handle your ****. They might lay off Good luck

Never. You are always our children, no matter how old you are and we never let you grow up because when we do we die from old age, lol.

Never you have to live with it til they die. After they are gone I bet you will miss it. Just be happy you still have them.

They don't. And if you have children I am sure you will do the same.
