i know the owner has 2 sets of these plates 1 is owl and the other is cat. i am also lead to beleive that there are odd 1's to. i know they are of some value but not sure what price range exactly. the owner also has miniture toby mugs. we have been estimated £100 each for them, does this sound right as i believe they are worth more.

You say these are wedgwood items but not if they are Jasperware or Standard glazed items. Flatware (ie plates) are not doing well in the antiques world right now along with brown furniture and silver. Personally unless they are handpainted plates then I wouldn't have valued them anywhere near £100 but obviously without seeing them it is very hard to guess.

Also toby mugs (correctly called Character jugs unless they show the full person's body - then they become tobys) would have to be from a good maker and well painted as these mostly make between £20-40.

If a proper valuation is important then try your local auction house who will be glad to give you a free estimate.

They are quite new only being 20 years old even thou they are sets, also depends if you have the boxes that they came in adds to the value. You need to take them someone who will give you a true value be careful out there as there are some bad dealers.
