I understand it's better to encrypt a message. I would just like to know how.

Depends on your Security requirements and the transport layer that you want to use to transport data.
If you want to run simple encryption on your machine and not send it anywhere, in java you can use the Crypto API, similar API's are avaliable for other languages.
If you want to send it off via the internet start with a HTTPS connection and then move up the chain depending on the snesitivity of the data using RSA, Digests etc..

L IS AN A THE WORD THESIS COULD BE - ZIE2P3 BUT THEN THE OTHER WORDS CONTAINING THE SAME LETTERS HAVE TO BE REPRESENTED BY Z I AND E ALSO.....LIKE THESIS= ziesis= zie2p2 THE SIS IS 2P2 ...... ZIE2P2 = THESIS......THEN ALL THE S ARE2 ALL THE I ARE P .... example (ZIE ZIE2P2 THAT THE STUDENT SUBITTED WAS ...) THE CRYPTOGRAM IN THE NEWSPAPERS AND ONLINE ARE ALL DONE THIS WAY...
