Item number: 280022005851 This is the item number for a Rent-Ghost DVD on sale on ebay at the moment. They are very rare as they were all deleted at one stage so whats out there is all there is. I remember it well and loved watching (as an adult) so its not just a kids show..

Me!! If you mean the Jester guy he was Mr. Claypole. That was one hell of a weird show. Audrey Roberts was Miss Popoffski cos she'd dissapear whenever she sneezed! There was an old witch and a pantomime donkey as well but I can't remember what they were called. Thankyou for asking this question cos my girlfriend has no memory of this show, (it was a bit before her time) but she said that a show that odd could never have been real and must have only existed in my head. I spoke to a couple of other people around my age about it but they couldn't remember it either and I was begining to doubt what is left of my sanity!

Yeah it was 1 of my favourates too.
A ghostly fantasy comedy that proved irresistible to - and durable with - younger viewers.
Writer Bob Block's original concept featured ghosts who have come back from the spiritual world to make amends for failing in their previous existence, but although the spectres had magical powers they still tended to be hidebound by the same ineptness that had dogged them during their earthly lives. In the opening episode, Fred Mumford returns from the spirit world and opens the agency Rentaghost, which offers ghosts and poltergeists for hire on a daily or weekly rental. He is helped (and hindered) in these plans by a fussy Victorian ghost, Davenport, and mischievous medieval poltergeist Claypole. Initially, Mumford enlists the additional support of his still-living parents, but things really take off when he links up with wheeler-dealer Mr Meaker, who becomes their agent.
The four had many comically spooky adventures before Davenport and Mumford moved on, leaving Meaker and Claypole to run the show. Following their departure (from series five) the format changed, becoming more domestic, and other characters were brought in and began to share centre stage, notably Hazel the McWitch and, in later episodes, Nadia Popov. Like many other children's series, Rentaghost was able to attract more than decent actors to its ranks.
Researched and written by Mark Lewisohn.

Michael Staniforth - Timothy Claypole

Try looking on Play.com for any DVD's. I used to LOVE that programme!! My fave was Dobbin. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have just tried Play.com with no luck. Let me know if you find it xx
Timothy Claypole the cod-medieval court jester was the most memorable.
Miss Popov, the ghost with hayfever.
Hazel McWitch, the very Scottish ghost.
Dobbin the ‘hilarious’ pantomime horse.
And, of course, Mister and Mistress Meaker, the long suffering suburbanites.

Yeah I remember the first episode. Mr Mumford didn't know he'd died at first.
The series went on for years. Alltough the only original ghost was the jester, Claypole I think.

We were just talking about it the other day.

rent a ghost, yes i remember it, always made me laugh.
it started with Fred mupfered who was dead, and his parent's did not know came back to earth with timothy clayploth a medieval jester and Victoria gentle man Mr davenport, later on you had Nadia pop off, ( gales mother in corrie), macwicth, dobbin who could transport himself like the ghosts, Mr and Mrs meeker and the long suffering perkings.
try writing to BBC for repeats of the programme.
