Sell it yourself from a website. Make it a downloadable Ebook as in pdf file. Promote it by posting articles referring to your book or extracts on Article Submission sites such as Ezinearticles.com.
And make a blog where you can chronicle the writng of the book as well as it's promotion and sales.

Self-publishing could be a good option. Do a search online for "self publishing" & sites will pop up.

Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* The Self-Publishing Manual: How to Write, Print, and Sell Your Own Book, 14th Edition by Dan Poynter
* Complete Guide to Self Publishing: Everything You Need to Know to Write, Publish, Promote, and Sell Your Own Book (Self-Publishing 4th Edition) by Tom Ross
* Smart Self-Publishing: An Author's Guide to Producing a Marketable Book, 3rd ed. by Linda G. Salisbury, Jim Salisbury
* Self-Publishing For Dummies by Jason R. Rich

There are lots of free informational resources out there as well. Check the source box for links to articles.

Also, be sure to copyright your work. You can do this at the US Copyright Office. Go to the last link in the source box for Literary Works. The application is fairly simple & the cost is $45 per application.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

It's not easy to get your writing published especially when you are new. It's a good stepping stone if you do something about it online. I have talked to a few famous authors and they told me life was tough at the beginning. The beginning phase tests your belief, your patience and your persistence. One of the guys i talked to, Mark Victor Hansen, submitted numerous drafts of his book, Chicken Soup For The Soul but were rejected about (i forgot but i think it is >1000 times, pardon me!) So, if you want to walk this path you got to take the heat. Good luck to you lady.

You need to find a literary agent. Agents typically represent authors for no upfront fee, but get a cut of royalties and advances from publishers that they secure for authors.
