only if we subtract it from the mind, and the vocabulary...

People cannot live without war, just like they cannot live without peace, love, hate, or anything else that falls into the scope of dualities. The only way to live in a world without war is to live in a world without emotion. If you take away desire, e.g. the desire to have somethings someone else has, the desire for power, the desire for money, the desire for love, etc., then a world without war can exist. The only problem is that those desires and urges are critical to the existance of people. It is in our ability to feel and hold desires that we have the ability to be conscience of our existance, and therefore, people cannot have the ability to live without war. In a world without people, war might not exist, but not so long as there are self-realizing beings. It is a problem of duality, being that without one end of the spectrum, the other cannot exist. And, therefore, people in their current state cannot live in a world without war...no matter how ideally we want to be as a species.

They can live without war becouse the war ultimately result in net loss to the mankind on earth. The winner may have the illusion to feel better at the cost of loser. The gains to the winner however, is just a fraction of the total loss to the assets of this earth. Knowledge, wisdom and moral and ethical values tends to disappear in warlike situations.

Oh well, here I go again.
In 5,000 years of recorded history, there are only thirty years for which no war is recorded. This is not the same as saying that no wars were occurring.
At any given time there are, on the average, thirty to thirty five wars occurring on this planet.
War seems to be a human condition. Although I am retired military, I could live without war.
But wouldn't it be awfully boring?

Yes, supposedly, but a civilization without war is so rare that it can be regarded as unnatural. Virtually all these warless societies are on islands.
The best we can do is probably minimize the duration and frequency of wars rather than chasing after the absurd dream of having no war at all.

Logically it is possible.
Realistically people will never do it.
Greed is the major problem with this planet.
There is more than enough resources to go around.
The problem occurs because 12 or 13 people want more in addition to what they already have so they trick everyone else into fighting for their ends.
I feel the whole earth is controlled by these elite greedy people.
They keep us fighting for scraps to survive so we are distracted from the truth.

In the modern world, war is a luxury. Of course we could live without it.
Whether or not it's likely to ever stop is another question.
