I'm pretty good about turning off the lights, but I keep my laptop on and my air conditioner set to 68 degrees 24/7. I live in a spacious one bedroom apartment. I know the air conditioning is my biggest weakness but if I turn it up any more I get really uncomfortable. What should I expect my electric bill to be?

Best advice is to ask your neighbors that live in the same size unit as you do. Utility companies and property managers will not usually offer average utility cost estimates because people inevitably fixate on the lowest estimate and then get upset when their bill is above the estimate.

Good luck with your search for information.

68? wow...and I thought I liked it cold in my house!! With you living in a one bedroom apartment, I wouldn't think your bill would be too high. We have a family of 5 and with the kids home all summer and tv's on, computer on, stereos, a/c, etc...our biggest bill was $248.00 in July...when we had several 100 degree days, so the air was going nonstop. Yours would probably be about half that if not less.

That depends on where you are and the cost per kwhr.

You could try turning up your AC and using a fan, that will save a bit of electricity.
