Read the Manga, it's better (yeah, I know, that's what they all say).
At least it's only one anime that has you hooked. My current vices include Kamichu, Tsubasa Chronicles, One Piece, Capeta, Ouran High School Host Club, and a host of manga too numerous to name (but the main one is Hajime no Ippo).
That and I'm waiting for the Wii to come out. Oh well, it's better than binging and partying hard while failing out of college. I'd rather graduate thank you very much.
Trust me, I think I've got you beat. ^__^

Join the "Y". Join a church organization. Join a program at your church (maybe they are having a picnic or carnival). Sign up at the Salvation Army and serve in their cafeteria. Sign up at your hospital and work in the gift shop or delivering newspapers/drinks to the patients. Maybe there is a park in your area, join up and teach little kids games. Go to dances. Go to sports events. If you can't get out then there's lots of informative things on the internet...find some science websites.

Don't you work? Get a job and meet some new people, then you may have more opportunity to go out and socialise.
