The first day of my last period was July 26, 2006. I am on the pill, but missed a few. I was supposed to start my period again on August 23 or 24 and begin my new pack of pills on the 27th. I took two home pregnancy tests and both came out negative. It is now the 29th of August and I still haven't started. Is it too early to tell? According to the online calculators, I would be about 4 weeks and 5 days. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've noticed that alot of people have suggested stress, but although I do usually stress alot this has never happened to me. And this is not the first month that I have missed a pill or two (I know, I know). I don't really feel any different, but knowing my body, and since I've been on the pill for 9 years, this isn't something that has ever happened, or is normal for me for that matter. Any more advice?? Am I just being paranoid?

I would go for a blood test just to make sure, but I am thinking since you missed some pills that your period is just messed up right now.

You can usually check close to your period start date....and you are past that....but your birth control pills might be altering the test results...I say get an appointment to see the Dr asap so that if you are you can stop the pills right away.... If you are not and you are trying to be then I suggest starting a prenatal vitamin asap..... The baby needs folic acid in the first few weeks ( before most mom's know they are pregnant) to help avoid some birth defects....if you are trying and need help then Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

I had like 2 or 3 pregnancy scares when using the pill just because my period didn't start immediately after I finished a pack. I also took home tests, that came out negative and eventually I got my period. If you are that concerned go ahead and make that appointment. Urine tests are uncertain early but no matter how early it is a blood test (while a bit more expensive) will tell you 100% right away (I've also wasted money on that because of late periods but at least I had peace of mind of knowing what's going on with my body).

It still maybe to early to tell myself personally I had a cycle in a month that lasted 2 days in the same month I found out I was Pregnant with my third child. And I was on birth control also! But go see your doctor in about 1week if you can but stress can also block your period too from starting but if it hasn't started go take another test.

The best way is for you to go see your doctor and have a blood test done. Its hard telling, because you missed a few days your body balance might be unbalance and that's whats throwing your periods off of schedule.

try to take another test if not then all you can do is wait. about two weeks after your period is late then take another test. it should be accurate by then. if you just can't wait then go to the doctor and ask for a blood test. that will tell you for sure.

my guess is that you are not. it is stress that is making matters worse: it always delays your period . and the more stressed out you are and will be the more delayed the period is. it is normal if you are late by a couple of weeks- i have known people to go w/o their period for almost 2 months thinking that they are pregnanat.just relax.
