If you think they did a good job, referrals and testimonials are most preferred.

If you insist upon buying something, most states have a dollar limit.

But a gift is not necessary. In fact, I usually buy my clients a small thank you of some sort.

I will preface my answer by disclosing the fact that I am a licensed Realtor® in the state of Arizona.

I agree with Searchlight and newmexico. Your Realtor® has already been compensated in his commissions. I really like the idea of a charitable donation. If you really want to purchase a gift for your agent I would recommend a token gift like a nice pen. The best gift I could receive, would be a testimonial and/or a referral.

Best of luck and congratulations on your new home.

Uhhh.... Not sure how to tell you this, but every time I've bought or sold a house, I got a small token gift from the agent. Not the other way around.

The agent has been compensated for their services, often handsomely so. At most, a thank you card would be in order.

A gift for what? In general a gift card to a restaurant is easy and non-personal. Try a place like Outback or Red Lobster.

How much money do you want to spend? As a realtor I would like a GPS system.

Yikes, if all my clients and customers would be like you I'd lower my commissions. Make a donation in their name to Habitat for Humanity.
