Personally I think that that is BAD PARENTING.
As parents we are supposed to teach our children whats right and wrong. Letting a TODDLER DRINK BEER is NOT OK and not teaching the child right from wrong.

It doesn't matter if it is on a regular basis or not. It is still illegal to consume alcohol under age 21.

That is setting a bad example.

I took a sip of beer when I was about four and hated the taste so much I didn't want it ever again.

I think it is an aquired taste- if he is already developing a liking for it then...... who knows. My son got my margarita glass at restaurant once before we realized what he was doing, and he got a sip. I was horrified, but he is not obsessed with getting a drink from my glasses now. I just hope that the parents are not just letting the kid do it, that it is a mistake.

If it is a sip from t ime to time (once a week) nothing could become addictive.. Personally.. I disapprove of children drinking any type of alcohol

Well, anything COULD - but will? It's hard to say.

In European countries they give children watered wine at an early age and they have lower incidence of alcoholism than in the US. I think there are lots of factors - the occassional sip probably won't do the child any harm.

In France children R allowed alcohol, usually watered down.
They don't have as many alcohol related problems as the rest of the World.
Although I do not agree with giving Children any alcohol, it is a drug like any other & prone 2 misuse.
It can damage the child & stunt their growth.

Your teaching him bad habits, and its not good for the child to keep doing that...

Some one should councel the parent, from AA, as they will be seeing that child, down the road, in the future, or maybe road kill along side the road...

Permissive Parents are NOT being "nice" to thier child, by letting them "experience" this sort of behaviour when they are young...it can make an alchoholic out of them with out even realizing it.

I wish you well..
