Clowns are the number 1 fear among children and adults. I don't think clowns make anyone happy. Does anyone know the history of clowns? I heard that they come from the french revolution and the clown make up is how they dressed up the heads of those who they guillotined so that no one would feel sorry for them.

Because they where makeup and do funny things and wear funny outfits. My son is 4 and hasn't seen a clown yet, cuz I'm scared he would flip out.

I don't know because a lot of the kids I know are terrified by clowns.

becoz the parents when young were made to play with clowns by their parents, and now its payback time (emphesis on payback time)

Because of those ever-so-cool balloon animals they make. Personally, I like the hats they make from balloons.

I don't know. As a little kid, they always scared the crap out of me. So did the flying monkeys on the Wizard of Oz - I know that's a non-sequitur but I don't care

because they wear funny clothes, and have funny faces, and do funny things. They are designed to make people laugh.
