Yes, it is a place to find things you can't get elsewhere.
Be sure to check feedback and number of transactions and guide your purchase by the price and the feedbacks.
You have no recourse if the person ends up not a registered user.

Be extremely careful dealing with someone out of the US.
Look at those feedbacks carefully. You have no recourse if someone out of the country burns you. You have no recourse if you sell to someone out of the country and they say they don't get it, you will end up reimbursing them. OUCH! Happened to me twice.

You can get burnt but generally not if you do the homework.

I have been selling and buying on e-bay for years so I thought I would share what I have learned and info on the times I have been burned

Feedback Score: 1343 Positive Feedback: 99.8%

Members who left a positive: 1346 Members who left a negative: 3
All positive feedback received: 1596

LOOK AT THE FEEDBACKS IF THEY LESS THAN A 95% DONT DEAL. FEEDBACK SEE IF IT IS ABOUT SLOW SHIPPING OR WHAT IT MIGHT BE

Just some times on enjoying E-bay and dealing safely on E-bay through my experience.

Once I bought some beads and the seller went on and on about medicinal and healing properites of the stones, the beads were glass when I got them> HUMM. The seller was mad when I left negative feedback and left me the same. SOO

Best wishes to all

Yes, it's pretty addictive.

But beware - I'm still waiting on something that I paid for over 2 weeks ago. I spent over £100 plus £28 postage, and it's still not here. If it hasn't arrived by tomorrow then I'll have to ask Paypal to get my money back.

Mind you, it's the first time I've had a bad experience - but you can't really be too careful.

Yep, im addicted, i buy buy buy.
But then i forget to look at postage prices after and sometimes get a nasty shock.
There should be a rule against putting a higher post and packaging rate than you actually spend. But hey maybe I should learn to read the ads properly!
Happy ebaying!

I used to be, but its not as good as it was. Not so many bargains and too many rip off merchants. And all the stuff from china and hong kong is just annoying, no one buys it.

The novelty will wear off

Good and bad. You can find just about anything but it also under values things. Also some people sell things which you can find cheaper on other websites.

EBay was only created around 5 years ago and already it has made its owners billions so i would say that you are not the only one who likes it

I was a complete eBay freak, but I've been burnt a couple of times and am kind of going off of it.
