I'm told by some to just take it for a few weeks because your immune system builds a tolerance for it and so it loses its effectiveness. Any recommendations? And also, what are your own personal thoughts and comments on how well this natural herb performs on your health? I hoping to take this product in the attempt that it boosts my immune system....since I'm always catching colds.

thanks everyone!

I would take it at the first sign of a cold and just take it for a week. The best type of Echinacea is the kind you refrigerate. It's called a tincture. You basically put a specific amount of drops on your tongue. If you take echinacea when you are well, it loses it's affect. It should be only taken when you notice cold/fever symptoms.

I have used it for several years, and love it. I agree though, only a few weeks at a time.

Start taking it at the first sign of a cold, be sure to take one that contains zinc since zinc is used by your immune system to fight infections.

If you are looking for something to take consitantly to help prevent infections, vitamin C is the way to go. Take a regular dose daily, and that should help.

I answered this in a previous question. Two weeks at a time is max.

BTW, someone is trying to promote a product or brand in their answers to both your questions. This is unethical and not ok!
